【スピーチ全文】ZOZOTOWN前澤友作氏の英語-下手かな？情熱が伝わったよ！

アメリカの宇宙開発ベンチャーSpaceX(スペースX)が世界で初めて一般人に向けて月の周りを飛行する月旅行を提供します！

その最初の契約者がZOZOTOWNを運営するスタートトゥデイの社長前澤友作さんだそうです！しかも6から8名のアーティストを一緒に月に連れて行くそうです！びっくり！

さらにびっくりしたのは、スペースXの記者会見で前澤友作さんが英語で会見していたこと。英語が下手だという意見もあるようですが、私は、前澤さんが自分の言葉で伝えたことで情熱がとても伝わったと感じました。

さて、今日は英語の勉強もかねて前澤友作さんの英語の会見全文をディクテーションしました。皆さんも是非、会見の全文を聴いてみてくださいね。

Thanks for coming this conference today and thanks for watching live streaming in the internet today.
Finally I can say I can tell you that I choose to go to the moon.
Finally I can say.
I’m very glad to be here and I’m really exciting and really honored, really appreciate to be able to share with this announcement with you and people all over the world.

Before talking about the moon and this project, I’d like to introduce myself a little bit. Okay?

月やこのプロジェクトについて話す前に、私自身のことについて少しだけ紹介させてください。いいですか？

２．前澤友作氏、18歳で渡米。アメリカに影響を受ける。

I had been here. I had been in Santa Monica, Los Angeles when I was 18 years old and I was a skateboarder.

I was so impressed by America, its fashion, music, art and culture and of course nice people like you.
Kind. American people is very kind. Yes.
And after 6 months of staying here, I returned back to Japan and started music. Next photo, please.

もちろん、あなたのようないい人たちにも。アメリカの人たちはとても親切です。
６ヵ月ここで滞在した後、日本に帰り音楽をはじめました。

３．ミュージシャンを経て、会社を設立。

I played the drums for our band.
Our band music is so loud and so you don’t have to listen to.
But I was an ex-musician.
And after the band I started my own company.

バンドでドラムをたたいていました。
私たちのバンドは、とてもうるさいし、聴く必要はありません。
私は、元ミュージシャンでした。
バンドの後、会社をはじめました。

My company was founded 20 years ago by me.
So this year my company is 20th anniversary. Whoo ! (歓声)Thank you.

私の会社は２０年前に設立しましたので、今年で２０周年になります。（歓声）ありがとうございます。

And finally I started our private fashion label that name is ZOZO, Z-O-Z-O.
And ZOZO slogan is ‘Be unique. Be equal.’
We are all unique at the same time we are all equal.
It’s important for us.

４．なぜ月に行きたいのか？

Now on to the main topic of the day many of you may be wondering, why do I want to go to the moon? What do I want to do there and most of all why do I purchase entire BFR. Entire BFR. Very huge.
For me this project is very meaningful.
I thought long and hard about how valuable it would be the first private passenger to go to the moon.
At the same time I thought about how I can give back to the world and how this can contribute to world peace.
This is my lifelong dream.

さて、今日のメインのトピックについて、多くの人が「なぜ私が月に行きたいのか？」「そこで何をしたいのか？」ほとんどの人が「なぜ、BFR（の座席を）すべてを購入したのか？」不思議に思っているかもしれません。BRF全座席です。すごく莫大です。

私にとってこのプロジェクトは、とても意義があります。
一般人として、初めての月旅行者になることが、いかに価値があるかについて長く強く考えてきました。
それと同時に、いかに世界への恩返しと世界平和への貢献ができるかについて考えてきました。
これは、私の一生の夢です。

５．月にアーティストを連れて行くことにしました！

Today I’d like to tell you about my plans. Okay?
Ever since I was a kid I have loved the moon.
Just staring the moon fills my imagination.
It’s always there and continued to inspire humanity.
That is why I could not pass up this opportunity to see the moon up close and at the same time I did not want to have such a fantastic experience by myself.
That would be a little lonely.
I don’t like being alone so I want to share these experiences and things with as many people as possible.
So that is why I choose to go to the moon with ARTISTS!!!(拍手)

今日、この計画についてお伝えしたいと思います。いいですか？
私は子供のころから、月が大好きでした。
月をじっと見つめるだけで、私のイマジネーションが満たされます。
月はいつもそこにあり、人間性を鼓舞し続けています。
これが、月に接近して見る機会を逃せなかった理由です。それと同時に、こんな素晴らしい経験を一人だけでしたくありません。
（一人だと）少し寂しいでしょ。
一人で経験するのではなく、この経験をできるだけ沢山の人たちと分かち合いたいです。
そこで、私は、アーティストと一緒に月に行くことにしました！（拍手）

From now I choose to invite artists from around the world on my journey.
The first artist I thought of was, do you know Jean-Michel Basquiat. Do you know?
As you can see I’m wearing a COMME des GARCONS T-shirts featuring Jean-Michel Basquiat, currently passed away.
He is a NY artist.

今から、世界中のアーティストから招待する人を選びます。
一番初めに思いついたアーティストは、ジャン=ミシェルバスキア（Jean-Michel Basquiat）でした。知っていますか？
見ての通り、私はジャン=ミシェルバスキアをデザインしたコムデギャルソンのTシャツを着ています。
最近、亡くなってしまいましたが、彼はニューヨークのアーティストです。

One day when I was staring at his painting I thought what if Basquiat had gone to space and had seen the moon after all or saw the earth in full view.
But wonderful masterpieces would be created.
Just thinking about it now gets my heart racing but once I got it started I cannot stop thinking about who else but if Picasso had gone to the moon or Andy Warhol or Michael Jackson or John Lennon or Coco Chanel.
These are all artists that I adore.
But sadly they are no longer with us.

ある日、彼の絵をじっと見ていた時、もしバスキアが宇宙に行き、月や地球全体を見ていたらどんなに素晴らしい傑作を生みだしただろうと想像しました。
それを考えただけで、胸が高鳴ります。もし、ピカソが、アンディ・ウォーホルが、マイケル・ジャクソンが、ジャン・レノンが、ココ・シャネルが月に行っていたらと一度考えだすと止まりませんでした。
彼らは、私が熱愛するアーティストです。
しかし悲しいことに、彼らは、もうこの世にいません。

But this is when I thought there are so many artists with us today that I wish create amazing works of art for humankind for children of the next generation and I wished very much that such artists could go to space see the moon up close and the earth in full view and create works that reflect their experiences.

しかし、現在にも人類に、次世代の子供たちに、素晴らしい作品を作ってもらいたい、沢山の素晴らしいアーティストがいます。このようなアーティストたちに宇宙に行き、月を近くで見て、地球全体を見て、その経験を反映させた作品を作って欲しいのです。

６．プロジェクト名はdearMoon

This is a project that I designed and named ‘dearMoon.’
I’d like to introduce a detail about the dearMoon in 2023 as the host.
I’d like to invite six to eight artists from around the world to join me on this mission to the moon.

これが、私がデザインし、「dearMoon」と名付けたプロジェクトです。
ホストとして、この「dearMoon」についての詳細をご紹介したいと思います。
世界中から6～８名のアーティストを、月旅行のミッションに招待したいと思います。

These artists will be asked to create something after they return to the earth and these masterpieces will inspire the dreamer within all of us.

これらのアーティストは、地球に帰ってきてから何かを創ってもらいます。
これらの傑作は、私たちを含むドリーマー/夢見る人たちを鼓舞するでしょう。

７．月旅行に招待するアーティストは未定。

Needless to say we have always been inspired by the moon.
Take for example Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata or Van Gogh’s the Starry Night and the Beatles Mr. Moonlight.

言うまでもなく、私たちは、常に月に触発されています。
例えば、ベートーベンの月のソナタであったり、ゴッホの星月夜やビートルズのミスタームーンライトなどです。

These are countless number of works that have been inspired by the moon all around the world.
Through the ages the moon has filled our imagination.
And with at most love and respect for the moon our planet’s constant partner I named this project dearMoon at the moment I have not decided which artist I’d like to invite but if possible I’d like to reach out to top artists that represent our planet from various fields including painters, sculptors, photographers, musicians, film directors, fashion designers, architects etc

月にインスパイアされた作品は、世界中で数えきれないほどのあります。
年月を超えて、月は私たちのイマジネーションを満たしています。私たちの惑星の不変のパートナーである月に愛と敬意をこめてdearMoonと名付けました。今のところ、どのアーティストを招待するのかは決めていません。可能であれば画家、彫刻家、写真家、音楽家、フィルムディレクター、ファッションデザイナー、建築家などを含む様々な分野から私たちの惑星を代表するトップアーティストにお声かけしたいと思っています。

Luckily we still have some time before 2023.
So I hope to work very closely with SpaceX team and to research out to each artists personally.
By the way if you should hear from me please say Yes! And accept my invitation please don’t say No! Okay.

スペースXのチームと共に勤め、個人的に各アーティストを調べたいと思っています。
